Garrett is a Certified Financial Planner® and an attorney. He is a southwest Florida native, a graduate of the University of Florida College of Engineering, and Vanderbilt University Law School. Garrett is married to Mary Jacqueline, who is John and Cynthia’s daughter, and Brian and Jennifer's sister – Beane Atkinson is truly a family affair!
Before joining Beane Atkinson, Garrett practiced intellectual property law, and was a partner for seven years at a nationally-recognized patent law firm based in the metro DC area. Garrett has always held an interest in financial markets, and, in addition to his CFP®, now holds a series 7 general securities representative license, as well as a series 66 investment advisor representative license, and a series 24 securities principal license.
Garrett is highly involved it the local community. He is treasurer of the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County, a member of the finance committee of Deep Creek Community Church, a member of the Punta Gorda Fire Fighter's Pension Board, an assistant coach with the Lady Tarpons weightlifting team, a member of the board of the Charlotte County Estate Planning Council, and the scoutmaster of BSA Troop 95 in Port Charlotte. Garrett is also the former President of the Charlotte Warriors Football and Cheer organization.
Garrett and Mary Jacquline's children, Samara and Mitchell, attend high school. Mitchell plays on the defensive line for the CHS football team, and Samara is on the varsity cheerleading team and the weightlifting team.
When he’s not working, Garrett is a competitive strongman athlete and enjoys turning wrenches and breaking things on his Jeep.
